GOSHEN – Juli Davis, ATC, has joined Goshen Orthopedics as a certified athletic trainer. She works with the Goshen Maple Leafs athletic program to evaluate, diagnose and treat student-athletes at Goshen College.
Davis is specially trained to provide instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) for patients. The therapy relieves pain and improves range of movement for athletes with sports-related injuries, according to the release from Goshen.
"Our athletic trainers, like Juli, are dedicated to helping student-athletes stay injury-free and perform at their best," said Randy Christophel, Goshen Health president and chief executive officer. "This highly qualified training team goes beyond sports performance and physical condition to consider each athlete's mental and emotional health as well."
Safety, prevention and education are at the heart of the athletic training program at Goshen Orthopedics, the release states. Trainers focus on helping athletes reduce sports injuries, recover safely and return to performing. They also work closely with team doctors from Goshen Orthopedics to coordinate patient care plans and rehabilitation therapies.
Davis received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.
