Leesburg Woman Among 2 Dead In Elkhart County Crash

ELKHART COUNTY - Two people on a motorcycle, including a Leesburg woman, were killed in Elkhart County today after a minivan allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way.
The accident occurred at 2:56 p.m. today at the intersection of CR 18W and CR 117.
According to an Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office crash news release, a 2011 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Yenis V. Rodriguez Argueta, 31, Elkhart, was traveling east on CR 18, west of CR 117, turning left (north) into a private drive.
A 2003 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Classic, driven by Jason E. Bleiler, 41, Goshen, was traveling west on CR 18 at the intersection of CR 117. Crystal Woolums, 38, Leesburg, was a passenger on the motorcycle.
The minivan turned left in front of the motorcycle, failing to yield the right of way, according to the release. The motorcycle was laid down but continued west and hit the minivan.
Bleiler and Woolums were declared dead at the scene. Neither were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
Argueta and her passenger were not injured.
The release states enforcement action is pending the results of the crash investigation.
The Town and Country sustained damage to the passenger side, while the motorcycle had damage all over.
