NORTH WEBSTER – The North Webster Town Council met for a brief meeting Tuesday.
Utilities Manager Mike Noe reported brush clean up is beginning. Dan Thystrup, council president, asked if leaves will be picked to which Noe said “it will be part of our street cleanup.”
He also stated that his crew will be filling potholes Thursday. He said it is almost time to start doing street sweeping and getting mats for drains and cleaning them out.
“We put out trash cans, too,” he said.
He said there’s been a lot of interest in the back-flow program. Residents may get a free back-flow preventer if they install it themselves, Noe noted.
“I’m getting a lot of calls,” he said of the devices. “We have about 25 of them.”
He was asked how the sewer plant is doing and Noe said it was OK, although a trough needs repaired so he is getting quotes. “The concrete is deteriorating pretty bad,” he said.
In his police report, North Webster Town Marshal Greg Church said there were 783 officer hours in February and 4,553 miles driven. There were 344.93 gallons of fuel used. There were 173 call of service last month. Of those, 11 were battery or domestic calls and one criminal mischief. There were three theft or fraud and three alcohol-related calls and 15 traffic-related calls and 22 accidents or vehicles in a ditch. There were 14 citizen assists or lock-outs and seven agency assists for fire and EMS.
In the park report, it was noted the new pier at town park is done and the rails are done. There will be Music in the Park soon, although an exact date is not known.
The next meeting is at 6 p.m. April 15.
