Pray For Peace

Today is the start of a new year, 2025, and a new president, Donald Trump. Every four or eight years, our country elects a new president to lead our country. This president is our country’s majority’s choice. I do not always agree with whom our country chooses. There is not much that I can do after our president and our officials are elected.
Our great country was founded on Christian values. So, there is one thing that I, we, can do. We can pray to our Lord. We can ask Him to give our leadership guidance to do what is best for us, and we can pray for peace. Can you imagine what would happen if each one of us would lift up our voices to God and ask for peace? What a better world this would be.
My family and I attend the Atwood Global Methodist Church. Every Sunday, we close our service with singing, “Let there be peace and let it begin with me.” Singing this song makes my heart warm. It tells me that there is one thing that I, you, we can do - that is to pray for peace.
In closing, I ask you to please join my church family and I in lifting our voices to our Lord and Savior and ask (pray) for peace.
Thank you.
