While they may not yet be as big as the annual rock and country concerts at Warsaw’s Central Park, each concert that’s a part of the Summer Concert Series draws a crowd.
And those crowds continue to grow annually.
“The attendance of these has increased every year,” Warsaw Councilwoman Diane Quance said at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on Friday when the nine contracts for the concerts were presented to the board.
Parks Recreation Director Stephanie Schaefer, who presented the contracts to the board, said, “And we added a few different nights, so we’re going to do a John Cougar Mellencamp night. Jimmy Buffet night. So we’re trying a few other things. We’ve noticed that younger people are starting to come to these concerts. And the children are coming and playing in the park, while the parents have a nice, relaxing time at the concert, which makes me really happy.”
The concerts are free to the public.
“All of these are made possible with grant funds from Kosciusko County Community Foundation and the Indiana Arts Commission. So we want to make sure we thank them,” Schaefer said.
The Board of Works approved all nine contracts for the concerts, which include:
