Marie Mathias, 96, North Manchester and formerly of rural Roann, died at 5:10 p.m. March 3, 2025, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester.
Opal Marie Mathias was born Jan. 18, 1929, in Miami County to William James and Mary Gertrude Shambarger Wright. On Jan. 20, 1951, she married Malcom Dean Mathias in Macy.
Viewing and visitation will be at the Earl-Love Funeral Home, Akron, on Saturday, March 8 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A public graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Gilead Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Community Church, 5506 E. 1300 N., Roann, IN 46974; or to the Randy Hughes Scholarship Fund, Northern Indiana Community Foundation, P.O. Box 807, Rochester, IN 46910.
