Paulette Cora Kanode, of Warsaw, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne at the age of 81. She is now at her eternal home in Heaven with her Lord and Savior!
She was born on Nov. 30, 1943, in Williamsport, Pa., to Sara Josephine Cardelli Alter and Herman Paul Alter. Paulette married Dalton Wayne Kanode on June 17, 1967, and shared 57 years of marriage together before she passed away.
Paulette worked as a nurse’s aide in Williamsport, Pa., for a number of years. She and her family moved to Kosciusko County and made Warsaw their home for the past 38 years. Paulette worked as a secretary at Grace College in Winona Lake, then at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw and later finishing her working career in the cafeteria at Warsaw Community Schools.
She enjoyed knitting, and was fortunate to have traveled to several countries throughout her lifetime. Paulette dearly loved her church family and was a long-standing member of Winona Lake Grace Church. More than anything, she especially loved her husband, children and grandchildren.
Paulette will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dalton Wayne Kanode, Warsaw; son, Dwayne Kanode, Palestine Lake; and her daughter, Crystal Morosky, Warsaw. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Skyler, Cameron, Travis and Tyler; four great-grandchildren, Emmrah, Emmett, Amara and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Paulette’s life with a service at noon on Friday, March 7 at Winona Lake Grace Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake, and officiated by Pastor Bruce Barlow and assisted by Pastor Kip Cone. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
