Larry Roger Ross

BOURBON – Larry Roger Ross, 80, was born on June 30, 1944, to Howard and Ruth Daniel Ross in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. Larry died Friday, Feb.28, 2025, at Paddock Springs of Warsaw, surrounded by his loving family.
He graduated from Fremont Ross High School of Fremont, Ohio, in 1963. He then graduated from Ashland College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1982, Larry moved his family to Bourbon and purchased the grocery store. He called it Rosses Food Market.
On March 21, 1997, Larry married Aimee Stine and they shared 28 years of marriage. They met through Larry’s hairdresser and a friend of Aimee. They went on their first date to American Table Restaurant.
He retired from Utilimaster in 2007. He was a member of the Atwood Otterbein Church. He had tremendous faith, and enjoyed preaching and officiating weddings and funerals.
He enjoyed mowing the yard, watching Ohio State win the championship, having coffee in the mornings with the guys, golfing, hunting mushrooms, picking blueberries, attending all the grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with family and friends. He wintered in Arizona for 10 years. He loved to travel with his wife, and made trips to Germany, Hawaii, Switzerland, Belgium, Vienna, Alaska, went on missions trips to Nicaragua, took a Mississippi Riverboat cruise and traveled all over the United States.
Larry is survived by his wife, Aimee Ross, of Bourbon; his daughter, Rachel (LeeRoy) Bennett, of Argos; his stepson, Phil (JoAnn) Stine, of Saddlebrook, Ariz.; his stepdaughter, Jill (Jay) Montalbano, of Bourbon; his stepson, Jeff (Michelle) Stine, of Tucson, Ariz.; his 16 grandchildren; his 27 great-grandchildren; his brother, Garry Ross, of Fremont, Ohio; and his sisters, Saundra Donahoo, of Fremont, Ohio; and Barbara Matesick, of Lima, Ohio.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruth Ross; his son, Aaron Ross; and his son-in-law, Jay Montalbano.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Atwood Otterbein Church, 306 E. Main St., Atwood.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at Atwood Otterbein Church, 306 E. Main St., Atwood, with Pastor David Banning officiating. The burial will take place in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood.
Memorial contributions may be made to Atwood Otterbein Church, 306 E. Main St., Atwood, IN 46502, in honor of Larry.
