NORTH MANCHESTER – Earlene Nordmann, a cherished mother, dedicated homemaker and beloved grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on March 3, 2025, in North Manchester.
Born on Jan. 18, 1938, in Floyd County, Ky., to Elbert and Flora O. Hackworth Conley, Earlene's life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her family.
Earlene graduated from Oil Springs High School in Oil Springs, Ky., in 1956, and shortly thereafter, on July 28 of that same year, she married Wayne E. Nordmann. Their union was blessed with three sons: David, Danny and Mark. Earlene's role as a loving mother was paramount in her life. She devoted herself to ensuring that her boys had everything they needed, cultivating a warm and nurturing home filled with love and support.
Earlene's talents extended beyond her role as a homemaker. She possessed a passion for cooking, often canning fruits and vegetables to provide for her family’s needs. She found joy in crocheting and dedicated time to reading, pursuits that brought her a sense of peace and fulfillment. Throughout her life, she was an active member of the Perry Do Right Home Extension Club in Miami County since 1960, where she fostered relationships with other community members and shared her love for home and family care. Her faith was an essential part of her life, and she was a faithful attendee at the Olive Branch Church of God in Miami County for many years.
The loving memory of Earlene Nordmann will be forever cherished by her sons, David W. (Louise) Nordmann, North Manchester; and Mark A. (Lisa) Nordman, Burket; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne E. Nordmann, who passed away on March 22, 2022; son, Dr. Danny K. Nordmann, who passed away on Sept. 14, 2020; brother, Ray Douglas Conley; and sister, Bobby Jean Conley.
Family and friends may call Sunday, March 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 10 at 11 a.m. with calling beginning at 10 a.m. at McKee Mortuary, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Servia.
