Michael A. Rego, a cherished husband, father, and friend of Silver Lake, passed away on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital at the age of 75.
He was born on July 10, 1949, in Quincy, Mass., where he cultivated a lifelong love for music and family.
He proudly served his country as a decorated Vietnam War veteran in the Army, where he was honored with a Bronze Star for his bravery and commitment. His service shaped much of his character, instilling in him the values of resilience and camaraderie.
Music was the heartbeat of Michael's life. He was an amazing guitarist who played in many bands across the country, sharing his passion for music with audiences far and wide. Most recently, he dedicated his talents as the church music director at Walnut Creek Church.
Beyond his musical endeavors, Michael had an undeniable affection for animals, especially his beloved kitties, Pumpkin and Butterscotch. He also had a keen interest in muscle cars, demonstrating an impressive ability to fix any mechanical challenge. Yet, above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Cheryl; his daughter, Anne (Marcus Lesch); his son, Chris (Kelli) Rego; and a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins, all of whom he adored deeply.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Julia (Cardarelli) Rego; his father, Anthony Rego; and his sisters, Linda Carini and Susan Murray. Each of these family members held a special place in his heart, and their memories will continue to resonate within his family.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 Sheridan St., Warsaw, is entrusted with Michael's care. There will be no funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will occur in the springtime. The date is to be determined.
As we remember Michael A. Rego, we celebrate a life characterized by love, artistry and unyielding dedication to his family and country. His legacy will live on through the music he created, the bonds he nurtured and the lives he touched.

Planes that spray my fields can’t hit the full area because of these obstacles. I’ve got four irrigation units running to irrigate the best I can, where normally two would suffice.
