Donnabelle Elaine Thomas, 90, of Etna Green/Bourbon, passed away on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, in Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw.
Donnabelle was born on April 4, 1934, to Glenn George and Iloe Theodore Vining Rockhill in Bourbon. She was a lifelong resident of the Etna Green and Bourbon area. She graduated from Etna Green High School. She married Russell Thomas on Feb. 10, 1956, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She worked as a bookkeeper for Etna Green Elevator. She belonged to the Senior ONO Club, Lydia’s Ladies, the Euchre Club, Etna Green United Methodist Church and the church choir. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, making crafts and dolls and running a booth at the area craft shows.
Donnabelle is survived by her children: Joleen Whipple, of Greenville, S.C.; Michael (Cindy) Thomas, of Warsaw; April (Saan) Fudge, of Honaker, Va.; her grandchildren: Chancelur, Travis, Tatiana, Dylan, Ariana, Jessica, Nichola, Sarah, Shelley, Sam (Kati); her great-grandchildren: Alanna, Luna, James, Marcellus, Abbi, Ellary, Beckham, Alexandria, Jamal, Skyla, Dhariya, Jayla, Amiah, Cordelia, Julian, Damian; her sister, Sharon Tyler, of Freeport, Texas; her brothers: Alvin (Virginia) Rockhill, of Mentone; and Bob (Jan) Rockhill, of Etna Green.
Donnabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Iloe Rockhill; her husband, Russell Thomas; her son, Bradley Thomas; her son-in-law, Bill Whipple; her sister, Shirley Younce; her brother-in-law, Jack Younce; and her brother-in-law, James Tyler.
A memorial visitation was held on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
A private family burial will take place in Etna Green Cemetery.
