Net 2024 Revenue For Warsaw Parks Stands At Over $140K

The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department netted more than $140,000 in revenue for 2024.
Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department Superintendent Larry Plummer provided that information to the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board at its meeting on Tuesday, while giving the 2024 year-end report. The net revenue stands at $140,467.76.
The amount includes funds from campground rentals, seasonal rentals and year-round rentals. It doesn't include the $67,667 from general revenue from parks' programs, donations, sponsorships and grants.

The department also reported 23,119 people took part in its 2024 events, which include the country music concert, classic rock concert, Summer Concert Series, free community programs and fee-based programs.
Plummer also noted work highlights from the year, including "improvements at the Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion (and) upgrades to the Center Lake Recreational Trail."
Other projects in 2024 included "resurfacing of the Boggs basketball court (and) camera installation at Central Park," said Plummer.
Warsaw Parks and Recreation Board members and Warsaw Mayor Jeff Grose praised Plummer and parks' staff for the accomplishments.
In other business, the board:
• Watched Grose swear in Steve Haines and Noemi Ponce for new terms on the board.
• Re-elected Haines as president and Larry Ladd vice president for 2025.
• Heard from Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department Recreation Director Stephanie Schaefer she received a $7,000 grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation for the Summer Concert Series.
• Heard from Schaefer there are still tickets left for the Daddy's Little Sweetheart Dance. It's 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8 at the Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion. People may buy tickets by going to the Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department's webpage and clicking on Paid Programs and then under the event.
• Heard from Plummer that laborer Andy Wright won the department's Ultimate Team Member Award for December for working every day that month maintaining the Central Park Christmas lights display.
• Heard from Plummer in response to a question posed by Board member Jill Beehler that those who vandalized the Zimmer Biomet Center Lake Pavilion at the end of last year were apprehended. Plummer said their cases are going through the court system currently and the department should get restitution.
Plummer said after the meeting the group included both minors and young adults.
The board's next meeting is planned for 5:15 p.m. Feb. 18 at Warsaw City Hall.
