Renita Louise Price Chesney, 74, of Warsaw, passed away Jan. 16, 2025, at home surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Kokomo July 8, 1950, the daughter of Norman Price and Lottie Krissel Price. On May 12, 1998, she married the love of her life, Layman F. Chesney, who preceded her in death. They retired together and spent many wonderful hours fishing together on their pontoon at the Little Barbee in North Webster.
Renita is a graduate of Western High School, class of 1969, Russiaville. She retired after 30 years working at General Motors in Kokomo and Fort Wayne. She was a faithful member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren for many years. She cherished the time spent with her many friends there. She was also a past member of the Lions Club of Warsaw. She was known for her bright smile, love of life and kindness to everyone.
Renita is survived by her son, Mark (Jessica) Gordon; daughter-in-law, Charity Gordon; stepson, Scott (Jan) Chesney, Melbourne, Fla.; grandchildren: Bonnie (Geric) Burrus, Julis Gordon, Ayana Gordon, Jeffrey (Shannon) Gordon, Lei-Anna Gordon; and her two great-granddaughters, Avalyn and Melody Gordon, all of the Warsaw area; sister, Kathy (David) Johnson, Phoenix, Ariz.; and brother, Steve Price, Marion.
Renita was preceded in death by her beloved husband; son, Thomas A. Gordon; stepson, Greg Chesney; both parents; father- and mother-in-law, Kenny and Iona Chesney.
Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with the care of Renita. Friends and family may gather for visitation on Monday, Jan. 20 at North Webster Brethren Church, 7281 E. CR 600N, North Webster, from 1 p.m. until the funeral service at 3 p.m. with Pastor Michael Kendall officiating. Renita will be laid to rest at North Webster Cemetery- Mock Addition next to her husband, Layman.
