NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Pierceton, Indiana, by and through its Town Council, which may be hereinafter referred to as the "Owner", will receive sealed bid proposals for:
TOWN OF PIERCETON
2025 Street Improvements
Sixth Street from Catholic Street to Elm Street
Third Street from Tower Street (Main) to Market Street
Fifth Street from Tower Street (Main) to Catholic Street Indiana
Street from Keith Street to Tulip Street
Cherry Street from Mill Street to Columbia Street
Columbia Street from First Street to Fourth Street
Fourth Street from Columbia Street to Wayne Street
Catholic Street from First Street to End of Road (East)
General plans and bidding template will be available in the Pierceton Clerk-Treasurer’s office at 105 Walnut Street, Pierceton, IN 46562. For in person pickup, available hours are from 8:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday (except closed the third Wednesday of the month), and from 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Work includes the construction and/or improvements of existing roadways including roadway removal and replacement, surface milling/asphalt overlay, drainage improvements, linear grading, site grading, and site restoration, including all paint striping or painted pavement markings.
The work to be performed and the proposals submitted, including any and all separate and combination proposals, shall include sufficient and proper sums for all General, Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Installation, Labor, Materials, Tools, Equipment, Taxes (both Federal and State), Permits, Licenses, Insurance, Service Costs, and so forth, incident to and required for the work.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check or acceptable Bidder's Bond made payable to the “Town of Pierceton, Indiana” in a sum of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Approved Performance and Payment Bonds guaranteeing faithful and proper performance of the work and materials, to be executed by an acceptable surety company, will be required of each Contractor at the time of contract execution in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
Sealed bids must be received by the Town of Pierceton, Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, at 105 Walnut Street, P.O. Box 496, Pierceton, IN 46562 by 6:30 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2025. They may be mailed or delivered in person to the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday (except not on the third Wednesday of the month), and between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Friday. All bids shall be in an opaque, sealed envelope bearing the Project title, “TOWN OF PIERCETON: 2025 STREET IMPROVEMENTS” and include the name and address of the bidder.
All bids shall include the completed bidding template form, fully completed and executed Contractors Bid for Public Work – State Form 96, IRS Form W-9, E-Verify work eligibility affidavit, and Affidavit Concerning Investment Activities in Iran. Bidders are responsible for the timely delivery of their bids.
Sealed bids shall be opened and read aloud at the Pierceton Town Council Meeting on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at the Pierceton Community Building, 105 Walnut Street, Pierceton, Indiana. Bids will be evaluated and it is the intent that an award will be made at the Town Council Meeting or at a subsequent regular or special Town Council meeting.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in the bidding.
All submissions may be considered public documents under applicable laws and may be subject to disclosure after bid opening. Bidders recognize and agree that Owner will not be responsible or liable in any way for any losses that the Bidder may suffer from the lawful disclosure of information or materials to third parties. Any materials requested to be treated as confidential documents, proprietary information, or trade secrets must be clearly identified and readily separable from the balance of the Proposal. Such designations will not necessarily be conclusive, and Bidders may be required to justify why such material should not, upon written request, be disclosed by the Owner under the applicable public records act.
