PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Kosciusko County is requesting a "Change of Use" for program income funds generated under grant number CV-CV1-100,originally administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA). The County proposes reallocating these funds to support Combined Community Services (CCS), located at 1195 Mariners Dr, Warsaw, IN 46582. The program income will be utilized to enhance CCS's food pantry operations, enabling the purchase of food, essential non-food items, and operational supplies necessary for the effective delivery of services. This reallocation aligns with the national objective of Low- and Moderate-Income Limited Clientele (LMC) and supports OCRA's mission of addressing critical community needs and improving outcomes for vulnerable populations.
A public hearing will be held on Tuesday,January 28, 2025, at 9:00am, 100 W. Center Street, Warsaw, IN 46580 (Old Courtroom -Third Floor). The purpose of this hearing is to inform residents about the proposed change of use and provide an opportunity for public feedback, questions, and engagement.
Kosciusko County plans to reallocate $52,073.85 in program income funding to support CCS's food pantry over a 12-month period. Funds will be distributed monthly to ensure steady support for food assistance operations, which benefit residents who meet the income eligibility criteria set by the USDA's Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). CCS's services are critical in addressing food insecurity in the community and directly benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and families.
This project will not result in the displacement of any individuals or businesses.
