Leodegario “Leo” Cuahuizo Cuautle, of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025, in Leesburg, at the age of 45. He was a loving son, husband, father and brother who will be dearly missed by his entire family.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1979, in San Luis Tehuiloyocan in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico, to Evarista Cuautle Cortez and Deodegario Cuahuizo. Leo moved to Warsaw in 1995. He married Esther Velazquez Sanchez on Dec. 8, 2018, and enjoyed raising their children. Leo was always a hard-working man and for most of his life he worked in the restaurant business as a cook. Most recently he worked at Don Pablo’s Family Restaurant in Warsaw. He was a great dancer and loved sports, especially playing soccer with his teammates. Leo had a genuine passion for the game, always striving to improve and loved to win. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Warsaw, where he was part of an evening prayer group, and was chief commissioner of San Luis and Santa Cecilia. He was also the padrino del niño Dios in 2023. Leo was a good friend who gave everything without asking for anything in exchange. More than anything, he loved his family and being able to spend time with them.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Esther Velazquez Sanchez, Warsaw; four sons: Leo Cuahuizo Cinto, Alfonso Cuahuizo Cinto, Jason Goble-Velazquez, Jan Carlos Velazquez, all of Warsaw; and his daughter, Citlali Meyo, Mexico. Also surviving is his mother, Evarista Cuautle Cortez, Mexico; three brothers: Procoro Tlahuetl Cuautle, Warsaw; Alejandro and Jose Cuahuizo, both of Mexico; and four sisters: Beatrice Tlahuetl, Ignacia, Rosalba and Guadalupe Cuahuizo, all of Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father.
