Via Credit Union Awards Grants To 17 Teachers

Via Credit Union awarded 17 Teacher Grants, totaling over $7,000, to support innovative classroom projects for the 2024-2025 school year.
Over the years, ViaCU has funded a total of 181 projects, contributing over $74,500 to local teachers, according to a news release from ViaCU.
Cindy Kohlmorgen, president/CEO of Via Credit Union, personally delivered the grant checks and extended congratulations to each recipient. Teacher Grants provide funding for innovative classroom projects that lack funding.
Kohlmorgen said, “Via Credit Union is honored to support these innovative projects. With tight school budgets, these grants provide teachers the resources to bring impactful programs to life, enhancing education in ways that would otherwise be out of reach.”
Grant winners competed with numerous applications for an opportunity to make their projects come alive in the classroom. The local winning teacher will use the grant funding for the following project:
• Peggy Cook, Wawasee Middle School: Dissecting Chicken Wings.
