INDIANAPOLIS – American Structurepoint received four awards from the Indiana Chapter of the American Concrete Institute (ICACI) 2024 Program Awards, including the Project of the Year Award for the Interstate 69 (I-69) Finish Line Section 6.5 project.
American Structurepoint served as the lead engineer for the final section of I-69 connecting Evansville and Indianapolis, partnering with Walsh, Milestone and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). American Structurepoint’s team of engineers designed 47 bridges, 59 retaining walls and 15 sound walls for this segment. Project improvements included the widening of Interstate 465 from Interstate 70 to Interstate 65 in Marion County.
The design saved $17 million in construction costs and improved the interstate’s long-term durability, the release from American Structurepoint states. Project results include improved mobility, connectivity and a projected economic impact of $4.1 billion over the next 20 years. ICACI also honored American Structurepoint and partners for work on the I-69 Finish Line project.
American Structurepoint also received recognition for work on the following:
• Indiana University Ferguson International Center – ICACI chose the design and construction of this facility as the winner in the Institutional & Cultural Category. American Structurepoint provided structural and civil engineering services for the center, which now serves as the vibrant hub for all international student programming and activities on the Bloomington campus. They share this recognition with architect Thomas Phifer & Partners.
• Integrated Cancer Care, Carmel – ICACI honored American Structurepoint and Cornerstone Companies, with the Health Care/Life Sciences Project Award for the Integrated Cancer Care center. American Structurepoint provided engineering, architectural and interior design services for the facility located at the Bridges Medical Campus, 11380 Illinois Street, Ste. 100, Carmel.
“American Structurepoint is honored to join our partners in receiving recognition from the Indiana Chapter of the American Concrete Institute for our contributions in bringing these projects to life,” said American Structurepoint President Cash Canfield. “We are thankful for the opportunity to collaborate with clients and partners to improve the quality of life for the communities we serve.”
