Combined Community Services (CCS) announced the appointment of Kiira Churchill as its new executive director.
Churchill, who previously served as CCS's director of development, brings a deep understanding of the organization’s mission, operations and community impact, according to a provided news release. During her time at CCS, she played a key role in growing the organization’s fundraising efforts and strengthening relationships with donors, partners and the community. She rejoins the team at CCS after her most recent role as director of communications, marketing and grants at Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation.
“As we embark on this exciting new chapter for Combined Community Services, we are pleased to welcome Kiira back to CCS in this pivotal role,” said Lauren Twombly, CCS Board secretary. “This leadership position is crucial in advancing our mission. We are confident that Kiira’s experience with CCS, along with her vision, dedication and passion will inspire our team and create positive change in our community. We have no doubt that under her leadership, CCS will continue to grow and thrive, furthering its impact in Kosciusko County.”
In her new role, Churchill will lead CCS in its ongoing efforts to provide comfort, hope and resources for neighbors in need across Kosciusko County. With her background in community engagement and strategic communications, she is well-equipped to guide CCS in its mission to remove barriers for low-income and in-crisis residents by offering programs that educate, support and empower individuals to achieve a higher quality of life, the release states.
Interim Executive Director and Director of Self-Sufficiency Sabrina Phillips said, "We are thrilled to have Kiira back at CCS. Having previously served as our director of development, Kiira’s exceptional leadership, strategic vision and deep understanding of our mission make her the perfect choice to guide us into the future. Her skills, talents and expertise have already proven invaluable, and we are confident that under her leadership, our organization will continue to grow and make an even greater impact. I look forward to working alongside her and seeing the impact of her leadership.”
As executive director, Churchill will lead CCS in its mission to support the residents of Kosciusko County, focusing on education, empowerment and sustainable solutions for families in crisis. Under her leadership, CCS will continue to provide vital self-sufficiency and emergency assistance programs such as food assistance, financial support and educational resources, all aimed at helping individuals achieve greater stability and higher quality of life. Churchill will begin her new role in March with a meet-and-greet event to follow.
