Carol Diane Warner

Carol Diane Warner, of Winona Lake, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the care of Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake, at the age of 82.
She was born on July 20, 1942, in Rochester, to Helen Dague Brown and Jesse Arthur Brown. Carol married David Owen Warner on July 28, 1962, and celebrated 62 years of marriage together before she passed away.
Before marriage, Carol graduated from Rochester High School and Ball State University. She was a secretary and administrative assistant for several organizations, including Ivy Tech Community College in Warsaw for 12 years.
She was an active member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, and of the choir, since 1965. Carol also enjoyed the women’s quilting circle for many years and volunteered in a variety of other ministries. Carol especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often during favorite activities such as quilting, camping and traveling. She enjoyed many hobbies during her life, including horseback riding, a horse-drawn buggy, painting, playing piano, and especially quilting. Carol quilted — in whole or parts of — dozens of quilts, blessing many family members and friends with fellowship during the process and the warmth and beauty of the results.
In retirement David and Carol enjoyed traveling all over the USA, often visiting national parks as well as geographically distant family and friends. They combined much of their traveling by volunteering 14 winters with NOMADS, a disaster relief mission, and several winters volunteering with ECHO, a global agricultural education and support mission.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, David O. Warner, Winona Lake; and two sons, Mark (Melissa) Warner, Warsaw; Greg (Gail) Warner, Malaga, Spain. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Jonathan (Alexis) Warner, Kendallville; Caleb (Sarah) Warner, Ann Arbor, Mich.; Daniel Warner, Warsaw; one great-grandchild, Lane Warner; as well as two brothers, Walter (Sherry) Brown, Brownsburg; Richard Brown, Rochester; and two sisters, Joyce Mills and Elizabeth Mikesell, both of North Manchester. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Carol’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 S. High St., Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Aaron Klein. Friends and family may visit an hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. A private graveside service will be held at Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rochester. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
