Kosciusko Community YMCA announced that the new turf at the K21 Sports Complex will be installed and ready for use in May.
After a season of challenges with defective turf, they have worked tirelessly with manufacturers to resolve the issue and ensure the fields are prepared for an exciting spring season, according to a news release provided by the YMCA.
This project would not have been possible without the support of G&G Hauling & Excavating and the K21 Health Foundation. Their partnership and commitment to the YMCA’s mission allowed the YMCA to move quickly toward both replacement and repair. The release states the YMCA is “incredibly grateful for their dedication to helping us bring this space back to life for our community.”
The new turf will bring the sports complex back to life just in time for warmer weather, and the Kosciusko Community YMCA will once again offer a wide variety of programs for the community. Sports leagues, including youth and adult soccer, will return, along with several new activities such as group fitness classes, family game nights and more.
“We are incredibly excited to get the fields back open this spring,” said Jim Swanson, CEO of the Kosciusko Community YMCA. “We’ve seen firsthand how important this space is for bringing the community together. Whether for kids’ soccer games, fitness classes, or family fun nights, we are so glad to once again be able to offer our members this space to enjoy.”
This spring, summer and fall, the Kosciusko Community YMCA will host sports leagues for all ages, including soccer, futsal and more, alongside new programs designed to bring people together, such as fitness classes on the turf and community events.
