Wawasee Welcomes Jaime Nathaniel As New Wawasee Middle School Principal

SYRACUSE – Wawasee  Community School Corporation announced the appointment  of Jaime Nathaniel as the new principal of Wawasee Middle School, pending board approval at the May 13 meeting.
Nathaniel brings over 20 years of experience in education, most recently serving as the principal of Northridge High School in Middlebury. During her tenure, she led with a focus on student growth, teacher empowerment and community partnerships, resulting in a 98.54% graduation rate and the expansion of work-based learning opportunities, according to a news release from WCSC.
Her selection came after a comprehensive round robin interview process that included over 30 participants — parents, teachers, district leaders and students. The consensus was overwhelming: Nathaniel is a dynamic leader whose vision and values align with the Wawasee Schools, the release states.
“Mrs. Nathaniel brings an exceptional level of experience, vision and heart to Wawasee. Her leadership is rooted in relationships and results, and she has consistently demonstrated her ability to lift students, empower teachers and build community. We are proud to welcome someone of her caliber to lead Wawasee Middle School,” said Dr. Troyer, superintendent of WCSC.
Nathaniel began her career in 2001 as an English teacher at Goshen High School and has since held roles as a science teacher, English teacher, assistant principal and principal. She holds an Ed.S. from Indiana State University and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Administration.
"I am excited to take on the role of principal at Wawasee Middle School," said Nathaniel. "I look forward to building strong relationships, supporting student growth and partnering with staff and families to create an exceptional learning environment."
Outside of school, Nathaniel is a proud member of the Exchange and Optimist Clubs. She enjoys reading, home improvement projects and spending time with her husband, their five grown children and three grandchildren.
