RE: CY 2026 Capital Assistance to purchase two replacement BOVC’s.
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by Kosciusko Area Bus Service (KABS) to consider a grant for which federal capital assistance under Section 5339 of the Federal Bus and Bus Facilities Program is being sought. Any person interested in a hearing must submit a request in writing that a hearing be held of KABS within a ten (10) day period after the publication of this notice.
I n 2026, the Kosciusko County Commissioners, in coordination with Cardinal Services Inc./KABS, plan to purchase three (3) replacement BOVCs. The estimated cost for two of the vehicles is $132,000, which includes a federal match of $112,200 and a local match of $19,800. The third vehicle is estimated at $128,000, with a federal match of $108,800 and a local match of $19,200.
KABS will afford an opportunity for interested persons, agencies, and private transportation providers to be heard with respect to the social, environmental, and economic aspects of the grant. Interested persons may submit orally or in writing evidence and recommendations with respect to said grant at the public hearing.
