SOUTH WHITLEY – At Tuesday night's meeting, the South Whitley Town Council discussed a sidewalk project along Ind. 5 between the Whispering Hills subdivision and the bridge.
Council member Trey Weber has talked with DLZ, who estimates the project to cost $500,000, so Weber will begin pursuing grants.

Council President Brock Waterson said the town will soon consider business proposals, which they have begun to receive, for the property.
Council also:
• Approved a street closure for the AmVets Spring Fling on May 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. May 4.
• Approved backup school resource officer certification for Town Marshal Mikel Vandevender.
• Approved a swing set installation southeast of the picnic area at Hagan Park.
Council will next meet at 6:30 p.m. May 13.
