Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District's tire recycling event will be May 12-16.
The Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District Board heard that news at its meeting on Tuesday at the recycling depot.
KCSWMD Director Tom Ganser noted the event, originally set for April, was moved back due to having to get approval from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
The board approved Ganser getting one to two temporary workers for the event, with the combined total for their employment to be up to $2,000.
In other business, the board:
• Approved getting a new computer for the depot for $1,385.03.
• Approved having attorney Scott Reust negotiate with Green for Life, which oversees the county landfill, to pay the county more in host fees.
Ganser said after the meeting the contract's terms haven't been updated since 2007.
• Approved having another tire collection time at the depot Sept. 15-19. Ganser noted a third one could be held right before the end of the year.
• Heard Ganser is still hiring for the education outreach and marketing coordinator position for the depot.
