A deputy prosecutor with the Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office recently was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Jennifer Leann Naue, 35, of Winona Lake, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 2:11 a.m. April 3. Her bond was set at $700.
According to a statement today from Prosecuting Attorney Brad Voelz, Naue spent the statutorily required time in the Kosciusko County Jail before posting bond. She voluntarily consented to a blood draw, which has been sent to a lab for analysis.
The investigation will be assigned to a special prosecutor from another county, who will have full discretion as to any charging decision and any ultimate disposition of the case, Voelz said. “Neither I nor any person in this office will have any input or involvement in those decisions.”
The special prosecutor has not yet been assigned. Voelz said he will not interfere with their authority or discretion at this time by publicly sharing ongoing investigative information.
Naue is still employed by the prosecutor’s office, “and policy dictates that I not comment on any internal disciplinary procedures within the Prosecutor's Office,” Voelz concluded.
