FORT WAYNE — Ivy Tech Community College Fort Wayne and Kosciusko County raised $12,286 during the third annual Ivy Tech Day on April 8, thanks to the support of the employees, alumni, and the community.
“We are so grateful to have a supportive community behind us both on and off campus,” says Dr. Kim Barnett Johnson, chancellor of Ivy Tech Fort Wayne. “With the help of our generous donors, we have surpassed our goals for a third year. Every penny raised will go directly to our students and campus.”
The funds will be used to support student scholarships, wraparound services, and campus programs — helping ensure students have the resources they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom, according to a news release from Ivy Tech.
All Ivy Tech campuses statewide participated in several friendly competitions throughout the day to encourage giving and celebrate with school spirit. The Fort Wayne and Kosciusko County campus came in ninth place with 135 total gifts, increased total donated amount by 10%, and achieved 100% giving from the Campus Board of Trustees and local cabinet members.
“Events like Ivy Tech Day remind us of our mission — to make bright futures possible for all our students,” said Tracina Smith, vice chancellor of Ivy Tech Fort Wayne and Kosciusko County’s Foundation. “Each donation represents a commitment to our students and a shared dedication to providing them with the best possible experience.”
Ivy Tech Day began in 2023 as an annual 24-hour giving campaign that encourages the community, alumni and employees to support the college. Across all campuses statewide $483,813 was raised. More information and a full summary of the statewide impact can be found at ivytech.edu/giveday.
