Becky S. Hyde, 77, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in her South Whitley home. She was a very loving wife, mom, grandma and sister.
Born on June 17, 1947, in Albion, Becky was the daughter of William and Rose Corteville Eamick. She graduated from Albion High School.
In Pierceton, on Oct. 29, 1982, Becky married Charles “Chuck” L. Hyde and to this union joined their children. Chuck would pass on Oct. 29, 2011, having shared 29 years with the love of his life.
She worked for Sprint Telephone Company for many years until her retirement. Becky decided to go back to work at Stumps in South Whitley as an office secretary.
In the couple’s early years, they enjoyed traveling to New Mexico in the RV during the summer. Becky enjoyed her weekly luncheons at the Woodlands Senior Activity Center in Southy Whitley and catching up with friends. She enjoyed knitting and was a member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church, Wolf Lake. She was known to many as a good person who was always willing to help.
Becky is survived by her daughters, Cassandra (Daniel) Atteberry, of Columbia City; and Jennifer Draper, of Warsaw; 17 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; her sister, Gail Waltenburg; and brother, Dennis Eamick; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; son, Eugene Hyde in 1985; her parents; great-grandson, Xavier Valdez in 2011; and stepdaughter, Geisla Denney.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 16 from 10 a.m. to noon at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapels, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at noon.
Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw.
