27th Ag Day Continues To Educate Fourth-graders About Agriculture

The 27th Annual Ag Days will be April 15 and 16 at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds.
Approximately 1,050 fourth-grade students from Warsaw, Tippecanoe Valley, Whitko, Wawasee, Sacred Heart and Lakeland Christian Academy will attend the event. Each class will visit 12 educational booths on horticulture, 4 H, crops, swine, beef, chickens, dairy, soils and water quality, ducks, farm machinery, horses and farm safety. At each booth students will participate in an eight-minute educational demonstration. In addition to participating in these activities, teachers and students will also receive an educational packet containing information from each station.
The Kosciusko County Ag Day is an annual event that provides fourth-grade classes from Kosciusko County with the opportunity to learn more about agriculture through a pre and post-test, in addition to the day’s presentations. Nearly 200 volunteers and sponsors help make Ag Day activities possible.
Ag Day is sponsored by the Kosciusko County Agriculture Awareness Committee, Extension Office, Farm Bureau, County Community Foundation, Cargill Animal Nutrition and Farm Credit Mid America and supported by the Kosciusko County Community Fair.
