The city of Warsaw Code Enforcement requested a shipping container at Deluxe Inn be moved by Saturday, April 12.
Deep Patel, a representative for Deluxe Inn, 2519 E. Center St., attended a code enforcement hearing on Tuesday to address the concern. He told city officials there had been two shipping containers on the property, with one belonging to the inn and another belonging to a Texas-based company.
Patel said the inn's container had been moved, but that they did not have authorization to move the second container since it did not belong to them.
Building inspector Robert Hurford said a violation notice was sent to Deluxe Inn on March 3, noting the container had been on the property over a year. He asked Hearing Officer Tom Earhart to implement a $500 fine against the Deluxe Inn for the container not being moved.
Patel said the company told Deluxe Inn representatives they would move the container by the end of this week, but had not been given a specific date.
Earhart entered an order stating a $500 fine would be implemented against Deluxe Inn if the container is not moved by April 12.
Three other matters on the code enforcement agenda were dismissed after the properties in question were ruled to be in compliance with city code. Those properties were 419 W. Winona Ave., owned by David Medina; 2119 E. Hendricks St., owned by Adessa Williams; and 2519 E. Center St., owned by Shivpal LLC, also known as the Deluxe Inn.
An issue with the Deluxe Inn's stairs not being up to code and in need of repair was resolved.

Four Months
Editor, Times-Union: It took 250 years to build a nation that was the envy of the world. It took four months to tear it down. Countries that once admired, envied, and emulated us … countries that had our backs and gave their support and spilled their own blood defending us in our times of need … now unite against us in fear, disappointment, and disbelief. Countries that once were our greatest adversaries now laugh at us and relish our downfall and weakness. America is no longer first in anything; it is alone.
