Friends Of The NWCPL Will Hold Talk On Butterflies

April 7, 2025 at 5:53 p.m.

NORTH WEBSTER - Join the Friends of the North Webster Community Public Library for a talk on butterflies with speaker Cindy Gackenheimer.
Coffee with Friends will be April 29 at 2 p.m. at the North Webster Community Public Library, 110 E. North St., North Webster.
Gackenheimer's interest in butterflies began when she started a perennial garden to cover up a new septic field. The first year of the garden she got monarch caterpillars on a plant that she didn't even realize was in the milkweed family. Since then, she has focused her garden on plants that either are pollinators that feed butterflies or host plants, which are plants where butterflies lay their eggs.
The event is free, but a free-will collection will be donated in Gackenheimer's name to Monarchwatch.org to help preserve butterfly habitat. There will also be free seed packets available courtesy of the North Webster Library seed packet program.
