AKRON – Dixie Ann Arter, 87, Fort Wayne and formerly of Akron, died Friday, April 4, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.
Dixie was born Dec. 4, 1937, in Frankfort, Ind., to Lewis and Edyth L. Powell Myers. On Feb. 24, 1957, in Akron, she married Stephen G. Arter; he died June 21, 2003.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, with the Rev. Dr. Mark Finstermacher officiating. Interment will be at Akron Cemetery at 2 p.m., following the service, with Pastor David Eaton providing the committal service. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
Arrangements were entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
