Julie K. Mellinger passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Mason Health Care in Warsaw at the age of 76.
Julie was born May 5, 1948, in Elkhart, to Clifton and Madelyn Tyler Mellinger. She attended Nappanee High School and then worked for GTI Dytronics for 21 years, Phillips Mfg. for six years and Miller’s Merry Manor for 10 years before she retired.
She loved walking her dogs, Buddy and Mia, playing with her cats and watching movies, sports and soap operas on TV. She read everything, books, magazines, newspapers and she loved the internet, esp. Ink Free News.
She is survived by her partner of 25 years, Thomas Hurley; daughters, Dawn (Branden) Truman, Cromwell; and Misty Bendorf, Warsaw. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Ashley (Nate) Schwartz, Brooke Morgan and Will and Noah Bendorf; great-grandchildren, Brecklyn Morgan and Sawyer Schwartz; and one sister, Jeannie (Dino) Coverstone; and her beloved cats, Kiki and Kuku. She will be missed but will live on through our memories. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were provided by Titus Funeral Home & Cremation, Syracuse.
