Area Cub Scout Packs Participate In Pinewood Derby In March

While Cub Scouts across the county enjoy plenty of fun activities and making new friends, one of the most popular activities is the Pinewood Derby.
Local Cub Scout Packs hold their own races, which can include a combination of Scout cars (regulation) and outlaw cars (expanded rules) using blocks of pine that are shaped into creations each year. After the pack races are held, councils and districts hold additional races that include any Pack that wishes to race. A lot of work goes into these races by the parents, Scouts and organizers, according to a provided news release.
Lincolnway District, comprised of units in Kosciusko, Whitley and southwestern Allen counties (Aboite Township), hosted over 30 scout and outlaw racers from Packs 3082, 3726, 3729, 3731 and 3828 in the gymnasium of Harrison Elementary on March 14 for an hour of racing fun. Below are the winners with every Pack having at least one Scout earning a trophy.
