MILFORD – Additional single-family homes are now available in the new Eastfield housing development in Milford.
The Eastfield housing development is situated in the northern part of the county on a 20-acre site off CR 1250N (Syracuse St.) in Milford, next to the North Park neighborhood. Four homes are completed and available for sale, with two homes already sold. Custom designed homes are also an option, according to a news release from the Kosciusko Economic Development Corporation.
Development is led by Goshen-based Miller Brothers Builders. When completed, the development will include 52 single-family units, both single and two-story units, with sizes starting at 1,200 square feet. Most units will include three bedrooms and two baths.
"This development provides the opportunity for families to reside in a quiet, rural part of the county while remaining close to amenities, with Ind. 15 nearby," said KEDCO CEO Peggy Friday. "And it’s an ideal option for those working in the northern part of the county looking to reduce their commute."
The Eastfield housing project began as part of an effort to bring more market-rate housing to the community. A housing needs study and strategy commissioned by the city of Warsaw, Kosciusko County, the Kosciusko County Community Foundation (KCCF) in partnership with the Housing Resource Hub, showed market potential for more than 2,000 new residential units throughout the county by 2024. And data from the study highlighted a specific need for housing that reduces commuting from outside the county, with a goal of growing the local workforce.
The Eastfield housing development is a short drive from Milford Elementary School, with a new facility opening across the street for the 2026-27 school year, and just five minutes from Wawasee High School. Additional nearby amenities include: Walmart, Meijer, Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital, Parkview Hospital (17 - 21 minutes), and it’s a 10-minute drive to Owen’s Meat Market in Leesburg.
Eastfield offers a country setting with the added benefits of city water and sewer, trash pickup and fiber internet.
