Henry Edward Goble, of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024, at Mason Health Care Facility in Warsaw at the age of 79.  He spent one last good day on this Earth being around people and playing bingo before passing into his eternal home in Heaven!
He was born as a late Christmas gift on Dec. 28, 1944, in Knox. Henry was one of seven children born to Viola Marie Chamberlain Goble and Garland George Goble. Growing up he always had a sibling to play with and of course even fight with. Henry attended school in Leesburg and worked on his father’s farm for a number of years. He started at DePuy in Warsaw in 1980 as a polisher and was a reliable hard-working man for that company until his retirement in 2006.
Henry met his lovely wife, Kathleen Joan Overmyer, while she was waitressing at the K-Mart cafeteria. That was a great day! They were married Dec. 1, 1983, and were blessed to have shared 38 years together before Kathy passed away on May 24, 2022.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past 68 years and was a beloved member of Pathway Church in Warsaw where he loved to worship his Lord alongside his church family. Henry loved to keep busy, especially tinkering away on one project or another in his garage. Throughout his life he enjoyed God’s beauty outdoors, golfing and each always trying to catch “a big one” on his many outings fishing. Henry was a regular at Maria’s Restaurant in Warsaw and on every occasion sat at HIS regular table with his buddies. He loved people and never met a stranger. Henry was hard not to love even as ornery as he could be. More than anything he dearly loved his family and will forever be remembered as a great father, grandfather, brother and was an old friend to many and a new friend to someone he met every day of his life. He LOVED the Lord and has finally made it to his eternal home.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, James (Calah) Goble, Leesburg; daughter, Elizabeth Goble, Warsaw; four wonderful grandchildren: Kayden, Joseph, David and Bethany; and one great-grandchild, Alex. Also surviving are two brothers, Benjamin (Joyce) Goble, Leonard (Kay) Goble; and his sister, Garlene (Ervin) Bolt, all of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, William; and three brothers: Tillman, Gary and John.
Henry’s life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30 at Pathway Church, 2402 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Jarod Osborne. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to The Goble Family, c/o Elizabeth Goble, 2956 E. Joshua Drive, Warsaw, IN 46580.
Online condolences may be sent through the funeral home’s website at www.redpathfruthfuneralhome.com.
