Nasty Women

Editor, Times-Union:
Donald Trump has often used the word “nasty” in addressing women who have asked him questions he preferred not to answer or who have called him out for one reason or another.
This letter is a plea to all nasty women, humble or not, with or without children, with or without cats, post-menopausal and babysitting or not. It is a plea to all the behind-the-scenes women like homemakers, secretaries, nurses, clerks, housekeepers, etc., and all the women who keep the world running, who are underpaid (or not paid at all), overworked, and definitely overlooked. Assume for a moment that all of you, all at the same time, just quit and went on strike. The entire world would come to a screeching halt. Well, ladies, it’s time to remember the priceless gift your “foremothers” gave you (thanks to their good fight and their determination) – the right to vote. You have immeasurable power.
It’s time to join forces, rise up, speak up, and vote for the candidates who most understand the negative impact Donald Trump and his local, county, and state minions are having and will continue to have on women, families, children, seniors, and veterans. Voting rights, reproductive healthcare rights, marriage rights, education rights and more are all under the magnifying glass and on the chopping block of the radical right and their blueprint for restricting or even eliminating those rights (read Project 2025 and Agenda 47). It’s time to quit ignoring the handful of self-righteous groups whose plan is to control what you read, whether or not you have a family (and when), whom you love, how you worship, how you vote, or what your children learn in school. It’s time to recognize the ignorant accusations hurled at public schools regarding grooming, or brainwashing or gender changing procedures, for what they are ... BS.
It is time to make America - and Indiana - great again ... like it was before the Trump era. It is time to vote: Kamala Harris for President, Jennifer McCormick for IN Governor, Valerie McCray for U.S. Senate, Destiny Wells for IN Attorney General, Lori Camp for U.S. House of Representatives, District 2, and Kiley Adolph for U.S. House of Representatives, District 3, the candidates who have everyone’s best interests at hear. They have not been bought, coerced, or influenced by power seeking sycophants of the MAGA cult. Notice: They are women ... women who care - not for power but for the preservation of all our rights and freedoms. They are the “nasty” women who can clean up the mess created by the MAGA gus who have screwed things up. After all, cleaning up messes is what we nasty women do best.
