WINONA LAKE - Plug and Play MedTech Expo, a major event in the medical technology and innovation sectors, was held at Winona Lake’s Miller Sunset Pavilion on Tuesday, bringing together industry leaders, startups and the local community for a day focused on collaboration and forward-thinking solutions in medical technology.
The event featured a lineup of speakers, including Ben Lytle, keynote speaker and former CEO of Anthem Inc. and now author of The Potentialist book series; Dr. Drew Flamm, president of Grace College; David Watkins, senior vice president of entrepreneurship and small business with the Indiana Economic Development Corp.; and Bob Vitoux, CEO of OrthoWorx and AcceLINX.
Lytle shared his insights on technology trends and how individuals can thrive in a rapidly changing world. Following the program, Lytle signed copies of his books “The Potentialist: Your Future in the New Reality of the Next Thirty Years” and “The Potentialist: The Pursuit of Wisdom,” the first and second books in the series, respectively.
A key highlight of Expo 2024 was the showcase of Plug and Play MedTech’s eight Batch 1 startups, including Edge X, Mango Medical, Nanochon, Nexus-MD, ORtelligence, Predictive Healthcare, Sparta Biomedical, and Statera Medical, according to a news release provided. Founders from seven startups were on hand to pitch their innovative solutions to the audience.
One of the distinguishing features of Plug and Play Warsaw’s MedTech Expo was the involvement of local businesses and community organizations. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities and refreshments.
Grace College’s Men's and Women's basketball teams hosted an energetic free throw challenge, offering attendees a chance to donate to a good cause and take part in a Hoosier pastime.
Warsaw’s Generous Coffee kept the crowd fueled with an iced and hot coffee bar, providing a welcome energy boost throughout the day.
Columbia City’s Poptique Popcorn provided freshly popped popcorn.
The event also benefited from the hard work of volunteers from Grace College Student CEOs, who helped coordinate various aspects of the day to ensure everything ran smoothly.
As the healthcare and technology industries continue to evolve, the Expo underscored Warsaw’s growing reputation as a center for MedTech innovation, the release states. The event brought together not only local businesses but also national and international thought leaders, demonstrating the area’s importance in the global MedTech landscape.
