Solid Waste Management District Employee May Return Full Time

The Kosciusko County Solid Waste Management District's former education outreach and marketing coordinator is hoping to return to the position full-time.
KCSWMD's board heard that news about Leslie Williams at its meeting on Tuesday from KCSWMD Executive Director Tom Ganser.
Williams had stepped down to become a stay-at-home mother, but was still working part-time as the coordinator.
Ganser noted some area schools are already wanting to have Williams coming in for programs.
She had planned to start as soon as possible, but board members are holding off on her returning until they make a decision on unpaid leave for her.
The board discussed giving her 10 days of unpaid leave to use whenever as soon as she starts. That's not normally given to an employee starting out, but the board considered the fact she had worked for them before.
However, the board wanted to see if rules allowed for that, with plans to hopefully have a special meeting to vote on the decision.
The board's next regular meeting is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.
