Free Family Safety Day Is Saturday At Central Park

Join the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Central Park, 119 E. Canal St., Warsaw, for Family Safety Day.
This free event is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The goal for this free event is to create a one-stop hub for your essential health and safety resources, while you get to engage in fun games and activities, according to a news release from WWFT.
There's no age limits, no fees to participate, just good wholesome family fun and information available at your fingertips! The CARES program will also be available to help you navigate available community resources.
Returning favorites include:
• Lutheran Gummy Worm Surgery
• Kosciusko REMC High Voltage Demonstration
• Face Painters
• Junior Firefighter Challenge
• JAWS demonstration
• National Weather Service
• Helicopters and other emergency vehicles
• Boat rides coordinated by the County Dive Team
• Bicycle & Car Seat Drawings
Family Safety Day is presented by the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and sponsored by Lutheran Health Network - Lutheran Kosciusko, Bowen Health Clinic, KREMC, Wildman, Crouse Body Shop, Family Express, Fellowship Missions, Warsaw Professional Firefighters Union Local 5461, The Dr. Dane & Mary Louise Miller Foundation and Indiana American Water.

An Airport Overlay District (AOD) was back on the agenda for the Warsaw Board of Aviation Commissioners Monday, which the city hopes the county will be willing to financially contribute toward. Robert LaFayette, section manager aviation planning at CHA Consulting, the engineering and consulting firm for the airport and board, presented a general services task order to them.
