Male Fashions received a facade grant for more than $4,000 Thursday.
Tim Hamann, owner of Male Fashions, said when they bought the building on Buffalo Street, they wanted to change the outside a little bit. The awning was old and said MudLOVE, so they changed the awning. Male Fashions also wanted a sign on the building so people could see it walking down the sidewalk.
The carpet at the entrance also was replaced, and the lighting in the front windows were changed.
The work was done within the last month.
He said the project cost about $8,000 and Main Street Warsaw’s facade grant provided about half of the cost.
Rob Parker, executive director of Main Street Warsaw, said the grant was for over $4,000. Since the inception of Main Street Warsaw, over $1.8 million has been provided in facade grants for building improvements for downtown Warsaw businesses.
Male Fashions used to be located on Center Street and moved to Buffalo Street in November due to the location having more space.
Hamann said he hopes people will be able to see the new facade and know Male Fashions is on Buffalo Street. The awning already makes the facade look nicer, he said. He’s had some people mention how nice the awning is to him.
