Pierceton Council Opens Bids For Park Improvements, Receives Letters On Sidewalk Project

PIERCETON — Pierceton Town Council opened several bids for improvement projects at Pierceton-Washington Township Park during a special meeting Tuesday.
Base bids were for the entirety of the work to be completed, including a concrete basketball court. The bidders also submitted alternate bids for an asphalt basketball court.
Bids were taken under review, with the council to hear a recommendation at a later date.
The bids were as follows:
• Lexlil - $373,000
• Hamilton Hunter Builders - $522,622; alternate bid - $15,758
• R Yoder Construction - $587,430; alternate bid - $15,758
• Almac Sotebeer - $440,609; alternate bid - $44,035
Council also received 22 form letters from residents in opposition of the Third and School Street sidewalk project. The council approved sending a response letter to the residents listed on the letters.
Pierceton Council's next regular meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9.
