One Minor Dead, One Critical After Sunday Double Drowning

One minor died and another was in critical condition after a double drowning Sunday.
At 12:27 p.m., Warsaw Police Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and Lutheran EMS responded to Gillam Drive North on the northwest side of Center Lake for a reported double drowning, according to a news release from the WPD.
Two minor victims had been pulled from the water and resuscitative efforts were underway as the initial crews arrived.
One victim was airlifted by Lutheran Air Ambulance from nearby Central Park and remains in critical condition in a Fort Wayne hospital, according to the release Sunday night. The other victim was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.
The release states that due to the sensitivity of the incident and ongoing investigation, all names are being withheld.
