Dwayne Hoover, 71, Warsaw, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, at Stillwater Hospice Home of Fort Wayne.
He was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Clinton, Iowa, to Rita Drawdy Bessent and Richard Alvin Hoover. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on July 20, 1971, and served until his honorable discharge on March 28, 1973.
He married Linda Joy Self in Norwalk, Calif., on Sept. 26, 1973.
Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. and Dwayne’s life will be celebrated with a service at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw, and officiated by Rev. Dr. Jeffrey A. Gill. Military rites will be conducted following his service by members of American Legion Post #49 and V.F.W. #1126, both of Warsaw, and active duty members of the Air Force Honor Guard.
Memorial donations in Dwayne’s memory may be directed to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209 and would be appreciated by the family.
