Coat Drive A Success

The 26th Annual Kerlin Family of Businesses Coat Drive to benefit people in our community who need warm winter wear was a huge success. We are so fortunate to live in a caring and giving community. Kerlin Motor Company, Inc. in Silver Lake was the coat drive collection headquarters. There were 1,245 coats donated, and Combined Community Service was very appreciative.
I want to publicly thank all the co-sponsors: Times-Union for advertising, Kensington Digital Media for advertising, Wildman and Peerless Cleaners for cleaning all of the coats and our Kerlin staff for helping with the transporting, sorting and counting the coats. Many hands make light work.
A sincere thank you to everyone who donated coats. I want to send a special thank you to the people who made hats and scarves and those who purchased new items, we had a record number of new coats! It is a wonderful feeling to know someone will stay warm this winter because we shared something as simple as a coat.
