Unattended Fire Gets Out Of Control

PIERCETON – There were no injuries after a shed fire late Tuesday night.
Pierceton Fire Department 1st Lt. Jared Smith said PFD got the initial call at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday for a shed fire at 6985 E. Old 30, Pierceton. According to county records, the property is owned by Malagon Martin.
According to North Webster Battalion Chief Adam Doyle, North Webster was called to assist just after 11 p.m.
Smith said the fire was more of a trash fire when they arrived on scene. One of the residents had lit a fire and it got out of control as it was left unattended.
When the North Webster Fire Department got on scene, the shed was on the ground, Doyle said.
Smith said one of the trees caught on fire and there was damage to the siding of the house and the RV parked on the property.
The shed was a total loss.
Lutheran EMS, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Pierceton Police Department also assisted.
