Brenda Carol Ganshorn, of Warsaw, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, at the age of 77.  She passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born on June 4, 1947, in Argos, to Carol Marie Faulkner Hudson and Jack Aurand Hudson. Brenda spent her childhood in Argos and graduated from Argos High School in 1965. She married Don Shepherd and were blessed with three children. She later remarried on Nov. 27, 1987, to Duane Earl Ganshorn. Brenda and Duane shared 22 years of marriage before he passed away on May 17, 2010.
Brenda worked as a roll tender for R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Warsaw for many years until she retired in 2010. Her favorite and real full-time job was simply being Mom. She took care of her family and home and made sure they had everything they needed. Brenda could always be found in her kitchen baking something delicious. She loved to cook and can. She also had an eye for detail and was great with her hands, which served her well as an avid quilter. She was a member of the North Central Indiana American Sewing Guild. Brenda loved to serve her Lord alongside her church family as an active member of New Life/Home Church in Warsaw. Most of all, she was a loving mother, adored grandmother and she always said her great-grandchildren were the icing on the cake! A beautiful life has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior and Brenda will be dearly missed by her family and friends until they meet again in Heaven!
Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Brenda Denise (Haywood) Harrison, Argos; and two sons, Donald Brent (Heather) Shepherd, Paicines, Calif.; Odis Jack Shepherd, Warsaw. Also surviving are seven grandchildren: Desiree (partner Sarah) Gilbert, Indianapolis; Benjamin (Kaitlin) Gilbert, Nappanee; Latisha (Dylan) Colburn, Springhill, Tenn.; Dalton Shepherd, Laytonville, Calif.; Zachary Shepherd, Paicines, Calif.; Casondra Shepherd, Plymouth; Jack Shepherd (CO); 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda (Jerry) Walston, Spartinsburg, S.C. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother.
Friends and family are invited to visit from 3 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Home Church, 744 S. CR 325E, Warsaw. Brenda’s life will be celebrated with a service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Home Church and officiated by Pastor Bryan Lowe and Pastor John B. Lowe.
