A Laurel man was arrested after allegedly pointing a shotgun at a man in his vehicle.
Timothy James Bammel, 66, Laurel, is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony, and pointing a firearm, a level 6 felony.
He was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 11:55 a.m. Oct. 14 and was released on bond.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on April 15 a Milford Police Department officer spoke with a man about Bammel pointing a gun at the man.
The man told the officer he was sitting in his vehicle waiting for his girlfriend when Bammel walked up to the man’s vehicle yelling and pointing a shotgun at him. The man said Bammel pointed the shotgun right at him and told the man if he didn’t leave Bammel would shoot him. The man then moved his vehicle to avoid being shot.
The officer spoke to the girlfriend who said she saw Bammel with a gun tucked under his shoulder, pointing toward the man’s car.
The officer spoke with the girlfriend’s mother who said she spoke with Bammel about the incident. She said Bammel admitted to her did point the shotgun at the man and ordered him out of the parking lot.
The officer spoke with Bammel, who said he was concerned about the children playing nearby so he grabbed his shotgun and went to confront the man. Bammel said the shotgun was loaded and he was not afraid to use it, but claimed he did not point it directly at the man.
