A Warsaw man succumbed to his injuries suffered in an Oct. 7 crash in Whitley County.
Jeffrey Moore, 55, Warsaw, died Oct. 17, according to information in his obituary.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. Oct. 7, Moore was involved in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 at the intersection of CR 800E in Whitley County, according to information provided Monday by Indiana State Police District 22 Public Information Officer Sgt. Brian K. Walker.
Moore, driving east in a Chevrolet Cruze passenger vehicle, reportedly crashed into the rear of a Kenworth semi-tractor/trailer that had stopped in traffic waiting on a red light.
Moore was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with life-threatening injuries.
The Allen County Police Department was the first-arriving law enforcement agency, but as the crash scene was in both Whitley and Allen counties (Whitley County’s east county line and Allen County’s west county line road), the Indiana State Police assumed the investigation.
The preliminary investigation stated it was suspected that Moore suffered a medical episode while driving, according to the ISP.
