Ghouls, superheroes and stranger things will be walking downtown Warsaw Friday evening for the much-anticipated annual Spooktacular.
It’s an hour longer this year - 5 to 8 p.m. - in hopes that it won’t be as congested and the lines as long, according to Nora Christiansen, Main Street Warsaw and Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce event coordinator.
The Spooktacular (the fourth Friday of the month) takes place of the October Third Friday. Due to the way the holidays fall, there will be no November Third Friday.
During Friday’s Downtown Spooktacular, over 30 vendors will be along the streets passing out treats for kids.
Christiansen said there also will be a secret costume contest with multiple prizes for each age group, such as games and toys.
Downtown businesses also will be passing out candy for trick-or-treat.
Three or four food trucks, along with all the downtown restaurants, will be open for anyone who gets hungry.
The major sponsor of the free Spooktacular this year is the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club. Other sponsors include Kensington Media, The Dr. Dane and Mary Louise Miller Foundation, Main Street Warsaw, Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, city of Warsaw and The Bowling Alley.
